Our journey, your new beginning
Guidance for navigating life's personal challenges with emotional clarity, resilience, and quiet authority.

Inspiration: A path forged from experience
Jo Anne Gonzalez Murphy, M.S. in Psychology
Navigating life after 50 was unexpected - nothing felt familiar, and I realized many women at this stage feel the same. Whether it is a new career, relationship shifts, or the quiet weight of uncertainty, it is a different experience altogether.
With over 20 years of experience and doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, I chose to focus my work on women over 50 and couples at all stages of life. I bring both academic rigor and the lived wisdom of my own journey to every conversation.

Unique approach: Comfort not clinical
My approach is unique to each person. It's grounded in psychological concepts, including positive psychology and understanding of cognitive and behavioral patterns - how you think and respond, while remaining thoughtful, practical, and personal.
As the author of Pushing a Mountain - a memoir on breaking the cycle of emotional abuse and realizing resilience - I have come to see meaningful growth happens to spaces built on trust, comfort and honesty.
Through thoughtful, strategic conversations, we work through your specific challenges in a way that aligns with your needs and values. Our work is collaborative, focused on helping you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Transformative outcomes: What to Expect
Those I work with often share that they were able to say what they once held back.
Speaking openly becomes the starting point. Small shifts in awareness begin to change how you see yourself and others.
Over time, people often notice a greater sense of steadiness, clearer decision-making, and more confidence in how they communicate. There's a growing ability to set boundaries with intention, express needs more directly, and engage in relationships without loosing themselves.
Many leave feeling more grounded, more self-assured, and better equipped to move forwared with intention and direction.
"Vida After 50 helped me find my voice and clarity during a challenging time. I feel refreshed and ready for what's next!"

My work is informed by a strong academic foundation, including a Master of Science in Psychology and advanced clinical training.
I offer private, one-one-one sessions for individuals and couples on a self-pay basis and do not participate in insurance networks. This allows our work to remain focused, personal, and confidential.
I do not provide licensed mental health services, diagnosis, or treatment. My work is centered on education, guidance, and support through a psychological informed approach.
